Efecto de la adicción de dimetilformamida al diluyente tris base sobre la supervivencia de espermatozoides felinos congelados-descongelados

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar el efecto de la adición de Dimetilformamida en reemplazo de parte de glicerol a un diluyente Tris base sobre la supervivencia espermática al descongelado en felinos. Se utilizaron 20 gatos, 16 se sometieron a orquiectomía bilateral para realizar la recuperación espermática de los epidídimos, y 4 fueron utilizados para la obtención de semen mediante electroeyaculación. Con los espermatozoides epididimales recuperados y el semen obtenido se realizó criopreservación utilizado un diluyente tris base con el agregado de 0.5% o 0% de dimetilformamida. El agregado de Dimetilformamida al Tris base no ejerció efectos protectores sobre los espermatozoides congelados-descongelados en comparación con la células criopreservadas con el diluyente Tris base. El agregado de un mayor porcentaje de amida podría mostrar efectos benéficos sobre los espermatozoides felinos al descongelado.

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of dimethylformamide in replacement of a glycerol part in a Tris-based extender on viability of frozen-thawed feline sperm. Twenty male cats were included in this study. Sixteen cats were castrated and epididymides were used for spermatozoa recovery. The remaining 4 animals were used for obtained semen by electroejaculation. Cryopreservation with sperm obtained from epididymides and semen were done using a Tris-based extender with 0.5% or 0% of dimethylformamide. The addition of dimethylformamide does not improve sperm parameters compared whit sperm frozen with Tris based extender. The addition of a higher percentage of this amide could show the protector effect on frozen thawed feline sperm.
