Abstract

Nas últimas décadas, nossa compreensão sobre a complexa relação entre os eixos imune, nervoso e endócrino cresceu significativamente, revelando uma complexa rede, incluindo neurotransmissores, neuropeptídeos, hormônios e citocinas/quimiocinas, que desempenham papel importante na manutenção da saúde, mas também no desenvolvimento de algumas doenças. O fator-chave para estabelecer a intercomunicação entre estes sistemas é o fato de eles lidarem com uma linguagem bioquímica e molecular similar; portanto, uma “sintaxe” comum.
