Geología del Cuaternario y Pedogénesis

Abstract

El objetivo general de esta contribución es examinar el papel que ha desempeñado la pedogénesis cuaternaria en diferentes regiones geomorfológicas de Argentina (Patagonia extra-andina, piedemonte y valles andinos, llanura pampeana), tema relevante para comprender la naturaleza y características de la mayor parte de los suelos actuales. Para ello se describen y discuten estudios de casos, fundamentalmente aquellos que cuentan con control cronológico adecuado, considerados ilustrativos de las regiones geomorfológicas mencionadas, a su vez complementados con ejemplos de relevancia del hemisferio norte.
