Abstract

This research paper starts with a reflexive analysis of the inclusion of the University graduates in the working world. We study some psychosocial and organizational factors quoted in the international sources that have a strong relevance on the burnout syndrome. We have compared employees with different levels of instruction (University graduates and non-graduates) working at Government Offices in Mendoza, Argentina. The applied methodology included quantitative techniques so as to measure the factors that predict the burnout syndrome. However, qualitative techniques were also used to go deeper into the causes underlying these issues. The lexicometrical analysis and the free word association were conducted. This article introduces some of the main qualitative findings of the state employees' perceptions about their working environment. An exhaustive analysis of the employees' answers shows the influence of the negative self-perceptions when developing the burnout syndrome, especially on the University graduates.
