Abstract

Los cambios en las proporciones corporales durante el crecimiento obedecen a diferencias en el ritmo de crecimiento dentro y entre distintos segmentos corporales, lo que se denomina alometría de crecimiento. Estas diferentes velocidades de crecimiento son las responsables de la aparición de la forma humana durante la embriogénesis y del cambio de forma corporal que ocurre entre el recién nacido y el adulto (Figura 7.1).Las diferentes velocidades de crecimiento en cada segmento de los miembros determinan que los distales sean más avanzados y cercanos a su tamaño adulto que los segmentos proximales. Esta tendencia ocurre a través de la infancia hasta la pubertad...
