Abstract

La tolerancia de las gramíneas perennes a la defoliación está determinada por la capacidad de rebrote posterior al disturbio (McNaughton, 1983), lo cual se relacionaría de manera inversa con la palatabilidad de las mismas (Coley, 1986). El objetivo del presente trabajo fue comparar la biomasa acumulada de Nassella trichotoma y Chascolytrum subaristatum, gramíneas perennes de baja y alta palatabilidad, respectivamente, nativas del pastizal serrano del Sistema Ventania, a distintas alturas e intervalos de defoliación.
