Las deudas en pandemia: símbolo y método de la crisis

Abstract

En Argentina apenas escuchamos la palabra deuda, inmediatamente, nos transportamos a la larga historia que conecta nuestro país con acreedores externos, institucionales o privados. De manera cíclica nos convertimos en expertos espectadores de rondas de negociaciones entre los funcionarios argentinos con representantes del FMI, de los fondos buitres o bufets de abogados que los representan. Una historia menos sistematizada pero igualmente poderosa para el destino de amplios sectores de nuestra sociedad, son las deudas de las familias, las deudas llamadas “personales” o “privadas”. Este capítulo se enmarca en un proyecto más amplio orientado a convertir a las deudas en reveladoras privilegiadas de las crisis, tanto de sus dinámicas como de sus consecuencias, y también en proponerlas como línea histórica de comparación entre los momentos críticos que atraviesa la sociedad. Las deudas son su símbolo y método de análisis.
