AbstractPCR studies have allowed us to better understand the ecology of the oral cavity, diagnose and predict the outcome and response to treatment in oral cancers through genetic markers, detect polymorphisms in specific genes that may be related to susceptibility to some dental diseases such as chronic periodontitis or potentially malignant lesions, mRNA gene expression of various inflammatory mediators and study genetic polymorphisms from clinical samples, such as saliva, blood, gingival mucosa, etc. Keywords: PCR, Dentistry
