Abstract

Estearasa = 13,36 ± 2,06 μg FDA/g suelo y Act. Deshidrogenasa = 34,90 ± 4,94 mg TPF/g suelo).

Pre emergent herbicides are use in horticulture to control early weeds. The herbicide persistence in soil can bring on changes at the population and microbial activities that are liable of nutrient cycling. The aim was to assess pre‐emergent herbicide incidence: Magan clin (pendimethalin 33%) over soil microbial activities. A plot assay was conducted were Magan clin was applied at 3 doses: 0, 4 y 8 L CP/ha. A week and 2 month after the application 4 samples of each treatment were taken, on which breath, esterase (FDA) and dehydrogenase (TTC) activities were determined. No differences at any activities were observed after a week. After 2 months, dehydrogenase and breath activities were lower in those soils were herbicide was applied. During the assay the activities did not change at the control pots (breath = 19,92 ± 0,95 mg CO2/100g soil/ 7 days; Esterase act. = 13,36 ± 2,06 μg FDA/g soil y Dehydrogenaseact. = 34,90 ± 4,94 mg TPF/g soil).
