Experimentación y análisis funcional de artefactos líticos tallados cubiertos por barniz de las rocas (Amaicha del Valle, Tucumán)

Abstract

En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de la etapa experimental del proceso de análisis funcional de artefactos confeccionados sobre andesitas de tipo B y G. Esto refiere a uno de los objetivos principales de estudio, relacionado con la identificación de uso mediante el reconocimiento de huellas diagnósticas en los filos de artefactos líticos de andesita, cubiertos por barniz de las rocas provenientes de superficies arqueológicas de Río las Salinas 2. La experimentación es importante ya que por medio del análisis funcional permite inferir el uso de un instrumento lítico y conocer sobre que sustancia se trabajó. Cada actividad realizada por las personas (descortezar madera, descarnar o raspar un hueso, entre otras) dejan rastros en los filos, que son diagnósticos y pueden ser registrados por lupa binocular y microscopio metalográfico. La etapa experimental nos permite además evaluar las cualidades para la talla y rastros de uso diagnósticos en ese tipo de materia prima.
