Abstract

ResumenEn la provincia de Mendoza (Argentina), la actividad apícolaproduce aproximadamente 260.000 kg de miel por año. Laproducción agrícola más importante es el cultivo de vides y enel año 2010 se detectaron polillas de la vid (Lobesia botrana)que condujeron en el 2017 a un estado de emergencia fitosanitario, por lo cual las autoridades contrataron aerofumigaciones que utilizaron el insecticida clorantraniliprol y la bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis. El clorantraniliprol pertenece a lasdiamidas antranílicas y se reporta baja toxicidad en abejas.Los objetivos del estudio fueron relevar las características delsector apícola del departamento de Santa Rosa (Mendoza), ydetectar la presencia de clorantraniliprol en abejas y mielesobtenidas de colmenas de esa zona. Se aplicaron encuestas a11 apicultores para recolectar información sobre las características del sistema productivo, nutrición, sanidad y el entorno de las colmenas. Se tomaron muestras de 12 colmenas,abejas adultas, crías de abejas, y miel. Se realizó la extracción líquido- líquido y detección de clorantraniliprol mediantecromatografía líquida de alta resolución con detector ultravioleta– visible. En actividades relacionadas a la sanidad de lascolmenas, la mayoría de los apicultores usan antiparasitarios.En la agricultura regional se aplican distintos insecticidas. Enlas colmenas ubicadas en las áreas aerofumigadas con clorantraniliprol, en muestras de miel se detectó el principio activopor encima del límite máximo de residuos. En las colmenasde áreas no aerofumigadas, en muestras de abejas adultas sedetectó el principio activo por debajo del límite máximo deresiduos.

In the province of Mendoza (Argentina), beekeeping produces approximately 260,000 kg of honey per year. The most important agricultural production is the cultivation of grapevines and in 2010 vine moths (Lobesia botrana) were detected, which led in 2017 to a state of phytosanitary emergency, for which the authorities contracted aerial spraying using the insecticide chlorantraniliprole and the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis. Chlorantraniliprole belongs to the anthranilic diamides and is reported to have low toxicity to bees. The objectives of the study were to survey the characteristics of the beekeeping sector in the department of Santa Rosa (Mendoza), and to detect the presence of chlorantraniliprole in bees and honeys obtained from hives in that area. Surveys were applied to 11 beekeepers to collect information on the characteristics of the production system, nutrition, health and the environment of the hives. Samples were taken from 12 hives, adult bees, brood bees and honey. Liquid-liquid extraction and detection of chlorantraniliprole was performed by high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet-visible detector. In activities related to hive health, most beekeepers use parasiticides. In regional agriculture, different insecticides are applied. In hives located in areas sprayed with chlorantraniliprole, the active substance was detected in honey samples above the maximum residue limit. In hives in non-aerially sprayed areas, the active substance was detected in adult bee samples below the maximum residue limit.
