Descripción de Labiduris Argentinensis sp. Nov. (Nematoda: Cosmocercoidea: Atractidae) una nueva especie de nematodo en Chelonoidis Chilensis gray, 1870 (Testudines: Testudinidae) para Argentina

Abstract

Describimos una nueva especie de Labiduris (Thapar, 1925) (Cosmocercoidea: Atractidae) colectada del intestino largo de la tortuga terrestre Chelonoidis chilensis Gray 1870 en Argentina. Labiduris argentinensis sp. nov. se diferencia de Labiduris gulosa (Rudolphi, 1819) (única especie válida del género), por el tipo y distribución geográfica del hospedador, posición del poro excretor, tamaño del cuerpo y cola de los nemátodos machos y hembras. La nueva especie posee un poro excretor a nivel de ensanchamiento medio del esófago, un tamaño del cuerpo más pequeño, cola corta y truncada, además de encontrarse en una tortuga terrestre con distribución restringida de Argentina. Estas características de la nueva especie son diferentes a las de L. gulosa que posee un poro excretor frente al bulbo y una cola larga y puntiaguda de gran tamaño y un cuerpo más grande. La nueva especie L. argentinensis sp. nov. representa la segunda especie válida para el género Labiduris.
