El pasado como ficción: la verdad procesal y los relatos historiográficos como prueba no técnica en los arbitrajes territoriales helenísticos

Abstract

En este trabajo me interesa focalizar la atención en aquellos pocos testimonios epigráficos de los arbitrajes en que las *póleis* en disputa recurrieron, como prueba para sustentar su pretensión, a los testimonios de historiadores locales. En estos alegatos de las ciudades contendientes se construye un cruce entre el prestigio de la narración historiográfica y la supuesta verdad que se desprende de su invocación. Frente a ello, mostraré que en la valoración de esa evidencia por parte de los árbitros se perciben los peligros de una reconstrucción subjetiva y ficcional del pasado y los riesgos de una manipulación política y forense de los acontecimientos a partir de relatos pretendidamente autorizados.
