As revistas da extrema direita chilena: Entre o antiallendismo e o antiperonismo (1969-1974)

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar como Portada e QP se posicionaram diante dos acontecimentos na Argentina no período que vai do fim da autodenominada ‘Revolução Argentina’ até o regresso de Juan Domingo Perón ao governo (1969–1974). Para isso, privilegiaremos a análise do conteúdo dessas revistas se atentando, principalmente, à seção ‘Semana Internacional’, em que os acontecimentos argentinos eram seguidos com atenção. Nossa hipótese aponta para o fato de que a estratégia discursiva antiperonista de Portada e QP contribuiu para desacreditar o governo de Allende e desestimular sua influencia no Cone Sul. Nesse sentido, sob o contexto da Guerra Fria, ambos os meios legitimaram a ‘Revolução Argentina’ ao considerarem que os militares haviam ‘resgatado’ o país do ‘ditador’, em clara alusão a Perón. Isso confirma as simpatias do semanário aos governos autoritários destinados a conter a mobilização popular e a economía ‘populista’ da região. De tal sorte que os ‘usos’ do antiperonismo, preconizados por ambas as revistas, não apenas aludiam ao clima de ‘caos’ social que se vivia no Chile desde o triunfo da Unidade Popular, mas também retroalimentavam o discurso antiallendista.
