Abstract

Las aplicaciones de salud mental para utilización en telefonía móvil o vía web han presentado un alto crecimiento en estos últimos años. Tomando solo un período a modo de ejemplo, en el mundo de los teléfonos móviles, se pasó de 10000 Apps disponibles vía los sistemas de descargas más usados (Play store y App Store) en el año 2018 (Torous, Wisniewski, Liu, y Keshavan, 2018) a más de 20000 para principios del año 2020 (Pappas, 2020).Este incremento deja en evidencia la avidez que existe por herramientas que asistan a la población con sus problemáticas en salud mental. Este fenómeno que no es regional ni nuevo, sino mundial y con varios años de desarrollo, quedó claramente planteado hace más de diez años por Kazdin y Blase (2011) a través de un trabajo en el cual anticiparon que la tecnología era una de las vías a través de la cual íbamos a poder acceder a una mayor cantidad de gente y que, de hacerse bien las cosas, esto podría resultar en una forma más eficiente de acción colectiva sobre la salud mental. El presente capítulo analiza las precauciones que se deben tener en cuenta para el manejo de los datos correspondientes al uso de tecnologías en uso en salud mental.
