Identificación de serpentinitas en el Cordón de Bonilla de Mendoza a partir de imágenes satelitales aster

Abstract

En la Precordillera Sur (Cortés et al. 2005) afloran ofolitas (Borrello 1969) representadas por escamas tectónicas de rocas máficas, ultramáficas serpentinizadas y asociaciones de metasedimentitas marinas del Ediacariano a Devónico (Boedo et al. 2015, Vujovich 2016 y otros allí mencionados). Boedo et al. (2015)describen que las serpentinitas del Cordón del Peñasco, al norte del sector de estudio, están relacionadas con las unidades aflorantes en la región de Bonilla. Su litología está dada por antigorita, lizardita y crisotiloy serían consistentes con protolitos de dunitas y hazburguitas. La localización de cuerpos serpentínicos existentes en el sector norte del cordón de Bonilla, al SE de Uspallata, fue posible utilizando datos ASTER debido a las características mineralógicas y a su respuesta espectral.
