Cada era y civilización ha abordado la pregunta ¿qué es lenguaje? desde perspectivas únicas, influenciadas por su conjunto de conocimientos, creencias e ideologías predominantes. Hoy en día, prevalecen visiones científicas y no científicas acerca de qué es el lenguaje. En el primer caso, el lenguaje se entiende siempre como un sistema complejo, y la atención se centra en comprender sus mecanismos de funcionamiento, desde los aportes de diferentes subdisciplinas…
