Inversiones del Campo Magnético Terrestre y la Metalogenia en las Sierras de Córdoba

Abstract

Seriamente investigadas y analizadas por científicos de diversos países del mundo (cf. Coffin M, F. and Eldholm O., 1993 y Larson R. L., 1995, entre otros), las anomalías provocadas por las inversiones del campo magnético de la Tierra dan cuenta de una serie de fenómenos que inciden grandemente en la constitución de la corteza terrestre y de la formación de depósitos minerales, a través del tiempo. Una de esas anomalías, tiene que ver con el nacimiento de penachos o “plumas” a nivel mantélico (entre la corteza y el núcleo terrestre) y la generación, movilización y emplazamiento de cuerpos intrusivos básicoultrabásicos en la corteza continental. Estudios recientes llevados a cabo por el autor mediante un proyecto de investigación con soporte de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales (UNCOR) y CONICET han puesto en evidencia la relación existente entre la metalogenia (yacimientos de metales) ligada a rocas básico-ultrabásicas y las inversiones seculares del campo magnético terrestre, en el ámbito de Sierras Pampeanas Centrales (Córdoba y Santiago del Estero).
