Obsesión por los gigantes tecnológicos, peligros del neoextractivismo y pérdida de soberanía

Abstract

En sus primeros siete meses de gestión, el presidente Javier Milei mantuvo varias reuniones con los CEOs de las principales compañías tech globales: Google, Meta, X, Open IA. En ellas, no logró compromisos de inversión, y según sus declaraciones públicas, el país está más cerca de comprar los servicios de estos gigantes tecnológicos, que de recibir inversiones. Ante este panorama, nos preguntamos: ¿a qué nos enfrentamos? ¿Qué podría implicar la instalación de estas corporaciones en el país? ¿Qué consecuencias tendría en el mediano y largo plazo?. Todo pareciera indicar que: “Los deseos del presidente por crear un nuevo Silicon Valley hacen sonar alarmas sobre una amenaza a gran escala”. Un combo que arrastra pérdida de soberanía tecnológica, debilitamiento de la autonomía política, extractivismo de recursos ecológicos y cesión de desarrollos científicos.
