Abstract

Resumen: Ponencia leída en el Segundo Simposio Internacional de Estudios Medievales, Santiago de Chile, Universidad Gabriela Mistral, septiembre de 2011. Más allá de los recurrentes debates entre posturas más historicistas o más esencialistas en relación con la architextualidad medieval, el caso de la especie discursiva del milagro mariano supone una problematicidad especial en la definición de su género, pues presenta elementos que la aproximan al exemplum y al relato didáctico propios del genus deliberativum junto a otros que la inscriben más bien en la laus y en el genus demonstrativum. La discusión ha tenido peculiar desarrollo a propósito de la colección de milagros más canónica de la literatura castellana, los Milagros de Nuestra Señora de Gonzalo de Berceo (s. XIII). Nuestro objetivo es sostener al respecto una solución integrativa mas no equitativa, que postula la pertenencia básica de los relatos miraculísticos de Berceo al género de la laus, a partir del propósito declarado que confiere al discurso su fuerza ilocutiva propia, pero admitiendo también la existencia, concomitante mas secundaria y subordinada, de otra genericidad ejemplar que radica en los efectos perlocutivos del texto.
