El poder de la Atención. Materialidad y axiología de los flujos comunicativos en el Capitalismo Informacional

Abstract

Uno de los rasgos salientes de la presente etapa del capitalismo es el incremento brutal de la cantidad de Información Digital (ID) que se produce y circula por sus redes informáticas. La posibilidad de producirla, almacenarla, copiarla y transmitirla con bajos costos explica, en parte, este hecho. Sin embargo, esos flujos de información digital no se bastan a sí mismos, y reclaman Atención humana para realizarse. De hecho, la atención tiene rasgos opuestos a los de la información y, consecuentemente, se vuelve un recurso cada vez más valorado en términos económicos, sociales y culturales. En este artículo intentaremos mostrar, mediante ejemplos cualitativos, cómo la captación, gestión y regulación de flujos de atención humana se ha vuelto un imperativo axiológico para los sujetos del capitalismo informacional.
