La traducción y el activismo feminista

Abstract

This paper aims at reflecting on the practice of translation as activism in the specific case of a personal translation experience for the entry Translation and Feminisms posted on the Dictionary of Gender in Translation from the International Research Network (IRN) World Gender: Cultural and Political Translations of Gender and Gender Studies. Our perspective, taken as starting point during the process of translation as well, takes from transnational feminist translation studies and is based on a conceptualization of translation as a form of activism that can change reality. For the purpose of this piece, we focus on the notions of intersectionality, translation ethics and the issue presented by the gap between theory and practice in the field of translation.
