Abstract

Cada período histórico puede ser visto como un momento de la formación socioespacial. Santos (1981) afirma que el modo de producción se realiza en la formación social que se metamorfosea con el espacio y permite que ellos, los modos de producción, se vuelvan concretos «sobre una base territorial históricamente determinada» (Santos, 1977: 87). El período actual, con sus características, sus variables dominantes y determinantes, se impone en todos los lugares. Esa imposición del modo de producción o del período es mediada por «las formaciones sociales constituidas bajo la órbita del espacio nacional» (Santos, 1999: 6).
