Remoción en masa y abanicos aluviales: el caso del desvío del arroyo derrumbe en el año 1960 (Parque Nacional Lago Puelo, Chubut)

Abstract

Los abanicos aluviales son potentes registros de la historia climática y tectónica de la Tierra. Pero, a su vez, la ocurrencia de inundaciones en abanicos aluviales se consideran graves peligros geológicos ya que estas emergen de sus ápices moviéndose gravitacionalmente con intensidad mientras transportan gran cantidad de material detrítico. Adicionalmente, los sedimentos gravosos de los abanicos aluviales pueden contener material cohesivo que proviene del valle ubicado aguas arriba. Estas dos características son factores que impulsan las avulsiones, es decir, los procesos de formación de nuevos canales durante eventos de inundación (Mollaei et al. 2018).
