Antiguos cazadores-recolectores de Tucumán: una historia de más de 8000 años

Abstract

El noroeste de Argentina (NOA) ha sido históricamente una de las áreas más intensamente investigadas desde el punto de vista de la arqueología prehispánica de nuestro país, contando con trabajos científicos en este campo desde fines del siglo XIX. Actualmente, podemos afirmar que las primeras ocupaciones humanas en el NOA se remontan a casi 11.000años atrás, las cuales fueron detectadas en cuevas y aleros de la Puna de Jujuy. En el actual territorio de Tucumán las evidencias más antiguas fueron detectadas en la zona de El Infiernillo, por encima de los 3.000 msnm, dentro de la Quebrada de Los Corrales, puntualmente en el sitio Taller Puesto Viejo 1 (TPV1). Las mismas corresponden a restos óseos de animales asociados a fogones que tienen casi 8.000 años de antigüedad.
