Circuito productivo de la citricultura

Abstract

E n Argentina, la citricultura se halla ampliamente distribuida en gran parte del país, especialmente es relevante el noroeste argentino al respecto. Allí sobresalen los casos de Tucumán –provincia donde se erige el polo o complejo agroindustrial limonero más grande del mundo– y la producción salto-jujeña (Santa Bárbara, Palpalá, El Carmen, Ledesma, San Martín, Orán, Güemes, Metán, Anta), especializada en el cultivo de pomelos y naranjas. Catamarca (Fray M. Esquiú, Valle Viejo, Capayán, Santa Rosa, etc.), por su parte, claramente desempeña un papel marginal en el conjunto. Otra región importante es el nordeste argentino, que contempla las subregiones de a) el Alto Paraná misionero (Iguazú, Eldorado, Belgrano, Montecarlo, Belgrano, San Martín), vinculado a la mandarina temprana y la naranja tardía para uso industrial, b) las adyacencias de las cuencas de los ríos Pilcomayo, Bermejo y Paraná, abarcando parte de Formosa (Pilagás, Pirané, Pilcomayo), Chaco (Bermejo) y el noroeste correntino (Bella Vista, Saladas, Mburucuyá, General Paz, San Luis del Palmar, San Roque, Lavalle, Concepción, San Miguel), con características similares a la subregión anterior, y c) la cuenca del río Uruguay, donde se aglutinan el sudeste correntino (Paso de los Libres, Monte Caseros –distrito este último que produce el 63% de los cítricos de la provincia–) y el norte entrerriano (Federación, Concordia, Colón), donde el cultivo de mandarinas y naranjas tiene como principal destino el consumo en fresco en el mercado interno y el exterior.
