Camarón o langostino de agua dulce (Macrobrachium borellii)

Abstract

Los camarones de agua dulce son crustáceos, al igual que los cangrejos, langostinos y los isópodos terrestres (“bicho bolita” o “cochinillas de la humedad”). El género Macrobrachium es un género muy diverso de palemónidos nadadores. A nivel mundial, este género cuenta en la actualidad con 267 especies y subespecies (WoRMS, 2023). Son importantes componentes de los ecosistemas de agua dulce de las regiones tropicales y subtropicales de América, África, Asia y Oceanía; en el continente americano se conocen aproximadamente 55 especies de Macrobrachium (Pileggi y Mantelatto, 2010).
