The following paper develops a series of theoretical arguments and empirical data on the promotion of women in political decision-making spaces, and the analysis of the process involved in Argentina from affirmative action measures, such as the Women's Quota Law implemented in the political system as strategies to achieve gender equality, to the final process of establishing the Political Parity. It also outlines a brief overview of the main public policies with a gender perspective implemented in the region to address the problems of gender inequality and inequity.
