Este artículo analiza la producción científica e intelectual de Gino Germani(1911-1979) desde la mirada de la ciencia política. Dicho análisis se concentra en algunos conceptos relevantes de la sociología de la modernización que le permitió estudiar los procesos de cambio en las sociedades en vías de modernización. En conexión con ello, se analizan las principales contribuciones sobre el autoritarismo en el siglo XX, una categoría que comprende tanto el fascismo del periodo de entreguerras, como el populismo nacional. Este último Germani lo estudia en relación al caso del peronismo en Argentina.
This article analyzes the scientific production of Gino Germani (1911-1979) from the perspective of the political science. This analysis comprises some relevant concepts from the sociology of modernization that allows him to study the changing processes in societies that are in the process of modernization. In connection with all these, the article approaches Germani’s studies of the XX century authoritarianism, a category that comprises the fascism during interwar period and national populism, whose main archetype is the 1940s and 1950s argentine peronism.
