Urban mobility represents a growing concern, it is a fundamental factor in people's daily lives that determines their possibilities of access to the city. This work investigates daily mobility in relation to socio-territorial inequality in the Tucumán Metropolitan System. The variables of trip generation rate, modal distribution, public transport buffer and ownership of motorized vehicles are analyzed. We work on the hypothesis that public transport is essential to reduce inequalities since it is the motorized means that has the greatest decommodification effect on mobility. Latin American cities show common features such as social inequality and high urbanization. There is widespread growth in surface area and low density, with closed neighborhoods and informal settlements on the peripheries, which leads to a deficit in infrastructure (transport, social facilities, others), fragmentation of the territory, unsustainability and inequality. Inequities in the mobility conditions lead to inefficient access to city opportunities.
