Abstract

El Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), el Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra (MST) y la Central Unica dos Trabalhadores (CUT) han sido el foco de numerosos estudios, especialmente en términos de su relación con el gobierno de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva y de las transformaciones que estas organizaciones experimentaron en los años previos a 2002, momento de llegada de aquél a la presidencia. El propósito de este trabajo es analizar a estos actores colectivos —junto con algunas fuerzas políticas de la base parlamentaria de Lula— en tanto parte de lo que podríamos denominar el oficialismo. Este concepto refiere al conglomerado de sectores organizados que fueron confluyendo, alejándose y realineándose en torno de la figura de Lula. En otros términos, la base organizativa en la que se sostenía el presidente, y cuyas organizaciones y espacios políticos desarrollaron manifestaciones públicas de apoyo a la política oficial o a la figura misma del primer mandatario. Se trata, asimismo, de organizaciones y espacios con algún grado de presencia institucional en el gobierno, ya sea en el Estado o en candidaturas electorales en apoyo al presidente. La noción de oficialismo no equivale a la de coalición partidaria, porque aquella implicaría una reducción de la amplia diversidad de sectores que conformaban la órbita política de Lula y que lo sustentaban (no sólo en el parlamento o en el gabinete).
