Desarrollo infantil: Algunos conceptos centrales

Abstract

Se trata de un texto destinado a los alumnos de la Facultad de Psicología y a los profesionales psicólogos. El capítulo aborda la conceptualización del desarrollo infantil desde su multideterminación, es decir, considerándolo como un proceso que depende de factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales o contextuales. Para ello, se presentan y ejemplifican los procesos y subprocesos que lo posibilitan. También, se incluye un apartado sobre los avatares del proceso de desarrollo en el caso de niños que viven en contextos de pobreza. Se describe el desarrollo como un proceso que comienza antes del nacimiento y se caracteriza cómo el recien nacido continua su desarrollo fuera del útero materno gracias a una serie de recursos que le permiten adaptarse que fueron denominados "equipo congénito del recién nacido".
