Abstract

La Ingeniería de Superficies es una rama de la Ingeniería orientada a la mejora de la respuesta superficial de un material, dado que en esa zona ocurren mayormente los procesos que deterioran a los materiales y en virtud de las importantes repercusiones de tipo económico, técnico, ambiental y social que generan mecanismos de deterioro tales como la corrosión, el desgaste o la fatiga. Este volumen, que apoya a estudiantes de la División de Ingeniería Mecánica e Industrial, reúne una serie de textos producidos por profesionales e investigadores de Argentina, Cuba, España y México, provenientes de diferentes universidades y centros de investigación, sobre varias de las tecnologías de superficie más importantes y algunas técnicas de caracterización empleadas en la Ingeniería de Superficies.
