Mecanismos de poder en el trabajo informacional: la disciplina y el control en los procesos productivos de software

Abstract

Este trabajo se propone realizar un aporte empíricamente fundado a la caracterización de los mecanismos de poder que se despliegan en los procesos productivos de trabajo informacional. Basándonos en un conjunto de aportes previos orientados a operacionalizar conceptos usuales en la filosofía posestructuralista, entendemos que hay dos de esos mecanismos que pueden rastrearse en tales procesos: la disciplina y el control. De manera específica, este artículo se enfoca en el lugar que ocupan ambos mecanismos en los procesos productivos de software. Metodológicamente, descansa en 24 entrevistas en profundidad realizadas a trabajadores informáticos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. La heterogeneidad de los procesos productivos de software analizados nos lleva a sugerir que si bien el control ejerce un rol novedoso y relevante en casi todos ellos, la disciplina no desaparece, y se anuda con él, en combinaciones variables dependiendo del proceso concreto del que se trate.

Este trabalho pretende fazer um aporte empiricamente fundamentado no que diz respeito à caracterização dos mecanismos de poder que são implantados nos processos de produção de software. Metodologicamente o texto baseia-se em 24 entrevistas em profundidade realizadas com trabalhadores de TI na cidade de Buenos Aires. A heterogeneidade dos processos produtivos analisados conduz ao raciocínio de que, enquanto o controle tiver um novo e importante papel em quase todas estas indústrias, a disciplina permanecerá, e estará ligada com o primeiro mecanismo, em combinações variadas, dependendo do processo observado.

Grounded in a empirical fact, this paper aims to contribute to the featuring of authority mechanisms that are deployed in software production processes. Methodologically, it rests in twenty-four in-depth interviews with IT workers, from the city of Buenos Aires. The heterogeneity of the production processes here analyzed, suggest that while control accomplishes a new and important role, in many cases the discipline remains, and it creates relations with the first mechanism, in varying combinations, depending on the observed process.
