Abstract

This article is the result of a line of research relating to the labor market and the analysis of information sources available for measurement. In particular, the analysis is limited to the labor market associated with the wine industry in the Province of Mendoza, Argentina. The concept of market that is attached is relational and is directly linked to the territory and social productive configuration; then it covers the dynamics of all the actors involved at different levels (regional, provincial, national, international) in a particular economic activity, with its resources and relationships, not confining it to the traditional analysis of supply and demand. Previous studies have shown that the available information on labor markets is partial and insufficient to reflect its diversity and complexity; that is the reason why this article is intended as a contribution to the discussion around it, as well as to the centrality that the public policies for training and employment of workers acquire as the heart of local territorial development.
