El presente artículo se propone realizar una relectura del libro de poesía Pau Brasil de Oswald de Andrade, texto central para la vanguardia brasileña de l los años veinte. La propuesta de relectura surge como contraposición de aquellas lecturas más canónicas que han enfatizado el aspecto formal del poemario. Por el contrario, nuestra propuesta procura destacar y otorgar valor a aquellos aspectos anestéticos de Pau Brasil: su dimensión política, histórica y ética.
This article aims to make a critical reading of Oswald deAndrade’s poetry book, Pau Brasil, the central text for the Brazilian avant-garde of the twenties. The proposal discuss some canonical readings thathave emphasized the formal aspect of the poems. By contrast, our pieceseeks to highlight and give value to those anesthetics aspects of Pau-Brasil:its political, historical and ethical dimensions.
