Abstract

Assuring the equality of educational opportunities and possibilities has become one of the main aims of the national educational policy in Argentina, particularly for the secondary level, as it is stressed both by the Law of National Education and by key official documents produced during the last years. Through the analysis of the objectives, scope and instruments of the national (and some examples of sub-national) policies that have been designed for realizing the right to secondary schooling, this article analyses how and to what extent those policies are addressing the attenuation of differences in educational resources and opportunities between social groups.
