This article revisited the question of university-society connection from a historical point of view. For that purpose, it retakes the “Labour Law’s Institute” (Social and Legal Science Faculty, University of Litoral, Argentina) experience between 1938 and 1955. The analysis focus on two main issues: the strategies took by this Institute to face to questions coming from legal community, political system and society as a whole, as well as its role in the design of social racionalities and technologies of goverment. Startig from these aproximations, it reflects about an “institutionalpolitical imagination” legal practice and about the contribution that an university rooted legal thought, made to Social State building in Argentina.
