Abstract

El lindano es un plaguicida organoclorado cuyo uso está prohibido o restringido; sin embargo todavía se encuentra en el ambiente. Las actinobacterias han demostrado ser aptas para la biorremediación de suelos contaminados con contaminantes orgánicos. Objetivo: Evaluar la influencia de la aclimatación de un consorcio definido de Streptomyces inmovilizado, sobre la degradación de lindano en lodos. Se evaluó la remoción de lindano (50 mg kg-1) en lodos (suelo/agua 1:4) por el consorcio de actinobacterias aclimatado frente a concentraciones crecientes de lindano (MixS5) e inmovilizado en bolsas de tela y por el consorcio inmovilizado sin aclimatación previa (MixS0); se determinaron iones Cl- liberados y se realizó un bioensayo de toxicidad con Lactuca sativa. El consorcio demostró estabilidad confirmándose la sobrevida de todos sus miembros luego de la aclimatación. La remoción de lindano lograda por el MixS5 (56%) no mostró diferencias significativas respecto al MixS0 (49%). Se confirmó la degradación de lindano mediante la presencia de iones Cl- en los lodos. El índice de vigor de L. sativa aumentó significativamente luego del tratamiento con ambos consorcios. Conclusión: El consorcio de Streptomyces removió y degradó el lindano eficientemente. La aclimatación previa del mismo no es necesaria; esto resulta ventajoso ya que es un procedimiento largo que aumenta los costos del proceso.
