La pesca es una actividad antropogénica que afecta los ecosistemas marinos; las redes de arrastre generan, además, un disturbio físico sobre el fondo. Los sistemas de monitoreo satelital de buques representan una poderosa herramienta para explorar la extensión espacial del esfuerzo pesquero. Se utilizaron registros satelitales para evaluar la distribución de la actividad pesquera en el Golfo San Matías (GSM) entre los años 2004 y 2020, vinculándose con las capturas declaradas en los partes de pesca.
