Abstract

This work has for object to carry out the analysis of consistency of the data of the daily Hydrological series 1977-2009 of the branch Potrero and to show the behavior of the heights of the sheet of water. The Potrero lacks its own basin. It corresponds to the branching of the Leyes branch. Both belonging to the Paraná river system. The measuring Station is over RP nº 1 situated 31º 30´44” S and 60º 27´ 45”W. It develops completely in the present valley control and in two relevant sectors: the major bed and Setúbal subsystem. From the series of 32 hydrological years only 14 (44%) are complete; the rest has diverse lapses without register. The interest of its study lays in that the Potrero, together with Leyes and Santa Rita, are important inputs of water flow of the main bed in extreme flooding situations towards Setúbal subsystem giving rise to important economic an social losses as well as invaluable impacts over the capacity of self recovering of the geosystem.
