Abstract

in this paper we give an account of juan L. ortiz´s poetry in light of the conflicts which give rise to the argentinean literature of the 20th century. the reading that we propose states that the figures of tension in ortiz's poetry reformulate the old controversy between social and avant-garde literature in a singular way. with this, the fundamental movement of his poetry is shown: a mutual implication of verses, dissolution of fixed forms and the transcendence of the limit which identifies and separates them. we sustain that the singularity of ortiz's project rests upon the understanding of this aspiration of being-another-thing as an internal displacement of the category of poetic autonomy.
