Abstract

Desde siempre, la hipertensión arterial (HTA) y la rigidez arterial han mantenido una relación causal recíproca. La HTA es una enfermedad multifactorial en la que intervienen factores genéticos, ambientales, neurohormonales y vasculares, entre otros. Las alteraciones estructurales vasculares desempeñan un papel importante en la patogénesis de la HTA; la rigidez arterial es un predictor de aparición de dicha complicación y actualmente es considerada como uno de los factores pronósticos...
