Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the dynamics of the continuous modulation of data both at the time of being “donated” by users and, afterwards, when operating on them, shaping modulating algorithmic profiles mainly on social network platforms –as one of the more relevant areas of current sociability– and also including them in the economic and control problematics of the concept / principle of Net Neutrality. To this end, we analyze, problematize and make different theories and concepts dialogue, such as Control Society (Deleuze), individuation (Simondon), Informational Normalization (Rodriguez) and Algorithmic Governmentability (Rouvroy and Berns), understanding that both users actions and the data they directly and indirectly provide fall in a new logic of producing predictions, horizons of possibility, practices and even new regimes of knowledge and power in the current cognitive-informational capitalism –within the framework of neoliberalism as grid of intelligibility–. The relevance of the paper is to analyze a key factor of the problems and prospects in the present capitalist situation where the exponential increase of the penetration of digital technologies represents new challenges and possibilities.
