Abstract

A lo largo del siglo XX el área metropolitana de Buenos Aires atravesó sucesivos procesos de suburbanización. Desde la perspectiva que propone la Historia Cultural, la investigación se centra en los sucesivos procesos de suburbanización residencial que tuvieron lugar durante la primera mitad del siglo XX y cuyas huellas aún se reconocen.

In the course of the 20th century, the sprawl in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area went through different stages. From a cultural-historical perspective, this article’s goal is to trace some of the topics recognizable now and in previous processes. The ‘garden suburb ethos’ and the ‘suburban way of life’ are to be specifically analyzed.
