Abstract

La traduction agit toujours comme un rapport de forces entre l’étranger et le vernaculaire ; en Argentine, ce sont les traductions produites pendant les années soixante-dix qu’il faut examiner pour savoir jusqu’où il a été possible de passer par l’“épreuve de l’étranger”1 » (Willson 2007 : 24). C’est bien à cette époque que nous pouvons observer dans certaines traductions d’auteurs nordaméricains une prise de distance par rapport à l’espagnol péninsulaire. Ainsi, dans la traduction faite par l’écrivain argentin Ricardo Piglia de la nouvelle « The Killers » (1977), nous lisons : « Tenés que ir más al cine. Las películas son algo bárbaro para un piola como vos2 ». L’effet de domestication produit par l’utilisation du ‘vos’ (voseo) et par le choix d’un lexique propre à la variété dialectale du Rio de la Plata (comme le terme piola) est bien une façon de se situer face à l’étranger.
