The triumph of the “Cambiemos” alliance involved an offensive by capital towards labour expressed in an agenda of adjustment and structural reforms. The resistance to this program was expressed from different agents of social change, with the popular economy workers being the protagonists of social protest during the period 2016-2019. Using the social movements themselves, we intend to account for the dynamics of struggle adopted by their resistance, characterized by the ability to deploy massive mobilizations, consolidate levels of unity within and outside the sector, converging in the protest with traditional unionism, and achieve certain conquests for the social sector it organizes.
