Territorialidad y poder en "El Cabeza" de Juan Carlos Martelli

Abstract

El cabeza (1977), by Juan Carlos Martelli, is a crepuscular crime fiction novel that allow us to study the link between two key concepts: territoriality and power. Through the study of that link, we will analyse the way that power is put into practice in the territory, and the differences that exist in it´s exercise in urban and rural spaces. We will also study two significant elements in the novel: the map and the chess. Both elements summarize multiple meanings and draft abstract ways of a territoriality in permanent redefinition. They are two figurative representations of the war for territory, within a crime fiction novel that, likewise, thinks over it´s own literary procedures and the different conceptions of power.
