Abstract

El tema de este artículo remite a una interrogación sobre los itinerarios intelectuales en la Buenos Aires de las décadas de 1960 y 1970. Mencionar a la Argentina, como suele hacerse en los estudios sociales cuando se estudia fenómenos específicos de la capital federal de ese país del cono sur, sería un exceso. Tal vez haya que decir, en honor a la verdad, que trata de un segmento de la vida intelectual porteña, a lo sumo desplegada en un radio de quinientos metros alrededor de la sede de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, por entonces situada en el número 400 de la calle Viamonte. Nos encontramos en pleno centro porteño, sitial consagrado desde la Generación del 37 como el vector del progreso argentino. Quizás no sea esta, entonces, sino una pequeña historia de la Gran Aldea (para regresar al sintagma de Lucio V. López) luego de 1983 confirmada unilateralmente como el centro de la vida intelectual argentina. Sin embargo su interés no reside tanto en esos recorridos parroquianos como en el pensarlos reflexionando sobre los enfoques utilizados para dar cuenta de una experiencia generacional. El examen reconstruye las orientaciones intelectuales de Beatriz Sarlo Sabajanes, más tarde una reconocida intelectual latinoamericana.
