Canteras y talleres al sur del valle de Yocavil

Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos tres sitios de superficie localizados al sur del valle de Yocavil: la cantera-taller de Ampajango, el cementerio de San José y un sector de la Loma Redonda de San José. En primer lugar, nuestro trabajo consistió en describir dichas fuentes de aprovisionamiento, discernir si se trataban de efectivamente de canteras, de talleres o de ambas cosas a la vez. En segundo lugar, analizar los procesos de producción lítica, enfocándonos en la reclamación. Para ello analizamos la presencia y distribución del barniz del desierto, como rock coating que afecta los materiales de superficie. Finalmente, datamos por microlaminación de barniz dos desechos de talla de la cantera-taller de Ampajango, lo cual nos permitió verificar la reclamación en un mismo artefacto.
